Overview
This guide walks you through deploying the Abloomify device agent to Windows devices managed in Rippling. You upload the installer as a custom Windows app, give Rippling the silent install command, scope it to your Windows devices, and verify. Rippling runs the install in the system context on enrolled devices, so it installs per-machine without an end-user prompt.
The short version is:
- Upload the
AbloomifySetup.exeto Rippling as a custom Windows app. - Set the silent install command
AbloomifySetup.exe /quiet /norestart. - Scope it to your Windows device group and verify.
Windows only
This guide covers Windows devices in Rippling. For Macs managed in Rippling, deploy the macOS agent separately (see the Rippling macOS guide). For the general Windows install (manual and silent) and other deployment tools, see the Windows install hub.

What Abloomify collects (and what it does not)
The Abloomify device agent collects high-level app and technology-usage metrics: which applications are active, for how long, and when sessions are active. It does not log keystrokes (only an aggregate keystroke count per app, never the keys themselves), does not take screenshots or record the screen, and never uses the microphone or camera. For the full breakdown, see the Abloomify device agent overview.
Before you begin
You will need:
- A Rippling subscription with Windows device management enabled.
- Windows devices already enrolled in Rippling. This guide does not re-document Rippling enrollment.
- Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit) on the target machines.
- Admin access to both Rippling and your Abloomify console.
- The
AbloomifySetup.exefor your chosen variant, downloaded from the Device Agents page.
Choose your installer variant
The Windows download offers two variants: with Chrome extension (also force-installs the Abloomify Chrome extension) and agent only (no browser extension). Pick one and upload that single file. See the Windows install hub for the full comparison.
Step 1: Add Abloomify as a custom Windows app
- In Rippling, go to the Devices area and open software / app management for Windows.
- Choose to add a custom Windows app (uploading your own installer, rather than one from Rippling's catalog).
- Upload your chosen
AbloomifySetup.exe. - Name it clearly, for example
Abloomify Device Agent.
Step 2: Set the silent install command
When Rippling asks how to install the app, provide the silent command so it installs unattended:
AbloomifySetup.exe /quiet /norestart
If Rippling also asks for an uninstall command, use:
AbloomifySetup.exe /uninstall /quiet /norestart
Important: Rippling installs Windows apps in the system context, which is exactly what the per-machine Abloomify installer needs. You do not need to supply user credentials.
Step 3: Scope to your Windows devices
- In the app's assignment or scope settings, target the Windows device group (or device list) that should receive the agent.
- Confirm the scope follows the device, since this is a fleet install that runs per-machine.
- Save your scoping changes. Rippling installs the agent as devices check in.
Note: Deployment is not instant. Devices receive the app as they check in with Rippling, so plan for machines to complete over a window rather than all at once.
Step 4: Verify the deployment
In Rippling: Confirm the app shows Installed on the target Windows devices.
In the Abloomify console: Within a short window, the device begins reporting in your Abloomify console, which confirms the agent is installed and running. You will also see Abloomify Device Agent in Add/Remove Programs on the device.
FAQ
Does Rippling install the agent silently?
Yes. Rippling installs Windows apps in the system context, and the
AbloomifySetup.exe /quiet /norestart command runs with no UI, so end users are not prompted.Do I need to run anything as administrator?
No. Rippling installs in the system context on enrolled devices, which is already elevated, so the per-machine install works without supplying admin credentials.
Does the agent take screenshots or log keystrokes?
No. It does not capture screen content, record the screen, or log keystrokes. It reads an aggregate keystroke count per active app, never the keys themselves, and it never uses the microphone or camera. See the device agent overview.
How do I confirm it installed?
Confirm the app shows Installed in Rippling, confirm Abloomify Device Agent appears in Add/Remove Programs on the device, and confirm the device begins reporting in your Abloomify console.
Which variant do I upload?
Whichever you need: with Chrome extension or agent only. Both install the same agent; the only difference is the force-installed Chrome extension.
