Time off and holidays in Usage Insights, self-view access for employees

This release adds availability context directly into usage charts so managers can read activity next to time off and holidays without switching tools. It also introduces self-view permissions so employees can access their own usage data when their organization allows it.

What's new

Time off and holiday overlays in usage activity charts

Usage activity charts now surface approved time off and company holidays alongside daily activity data.
  • Chart bars and annotations distinguish regular working days from approved leave and company holidays
  • Hovering a bar shows time off details in the tooltip so context is one click away
  • The selected date range automatically expands to include time off that spans the period boundary, so nothing is silently dropped from the view

Per-employee time off summaries

Each employee row in Usage Insights now includes a summary of their time off over the selected period.
  • Days away, holiday occurrences, and approved leave are aggregated into a clear summary card
  • The Employees in Scope table adds a sortable Time Off Days column, also included in CSV exports
  • Tooltips in the Top Productivity view show leave context alongside activity data

Self-view access for employees

A new self-view permission lets employees see their own usage data when their organization's policy allows it.
  • Employees with self-view access see their individual activity view rather than a blank or blocked screen
  • Scope resolution is consistent: self-access roles see exactly their own data, broader roles see the full configured scope
  • Access checks happen at the route level and inside the view so there are no gaps between what the app shows and what users are authorized to see

HR-sourced time off synced from Workday

For organizations connected to Workday, approved time off events now sync automatically into Abloomify.
  • Year-to-date time off records are fetched and updated each sync cycle
  • Stale entries within the synced window are cleaned up automatically
  • A backfill mode is available for populating historical time off data when needed

Try it

  • Open Usage Insights and select a date range that includes recent time off to see overlays on the activity chart
  • Hover a chart bar on a leave day to see the time off summary in the tooltip
  • Check the Employees in Scope table for the new Time Off Days column
  • If your organization uses Workday, confirm recent approved leave appears in the activity overlay after the next sync cycle
