Why Salesforce Setup Includes an Install Step

Salesforce connection setup is different from many other SaaS integrations. Before OAuth can succeed, your Salesforce admin must make the Abloomify Salesforce app available inside the Salesforce org you want to authorize.
For Abloomify's Salesforce connection flow, that means a one-time package install in the target org before you return to Abloomify and click Connect.
If that install step is skipped, Salesforce typically returns an error similar to:
  • OAUTH_EC_APP_NOT_FOUND
  • External client app is not installed in this org
That error does not mean your admin permissions are wrong. It usually means the Salesforce org does not yet have the required Abloomify app/package installed.

Before You Start

Have these items ready before you begin:
  • A Salesforce admin account for the org you want to connect
  • The Abloomify managed package install link provided by your onboarding email or Abloomify implementation contact
  • The correct Salesforce environment in mind (production org versus sandbox org)
  • Access to your Abloomify integrations page
If you are connecting a sandbox, install the package in that sandbox. If you are connecting production, install it in the production org. The install must happen in the exact org you plan to authorize.

Step 1: Get the Latest Abloomify Package Install Link

Your Abloomify implementation contact will share the latest Salesforce managed package install link. Use that link rather than saving an older install URL from a prior email or project.
This matters because Salesforce packaging, permissions, and app association details can change over time. Using the current install link reduces setup issues and ensures you install the correct package version for the Abloomify Salesforce connection flow.
If you do not have the link yet, pause here and request it from your Abloomify contact before continuing.

Step 2: Install the Package in the Correct Salesforce Org

Open the install link while signed in to the correct Salesforce org.
During installation:
  • Confirm you are in the right org at the top of Salesforce
  • Review the package details and version
  • Choose the install scope recommended by your internal admin policy
  • Approve the install so the Abloomify Salesforce app becomes available in that org
If your team uses separate production and sandbox orgs, be careful here. Installing the package in one org does not automatically make it available in another.

Step 3: Review Access and Approval Prompts

After installation, Salesforce may show approval prompts, connected app confirmation screens, or org-level policy notices. Complete those steps before leaving Salesforce.
Your internal Salesforce security team may also require:
  • An admin review of the package
  • Internal approval for third-party application access
  • A short wait while Salesforce finishes package processing
If the install completes but the app is not immediately available, wait a few minutes and verify the package appears in your installed package list before moving on.

Step 4: Return to Abloomify and Start the Connection

Go back to the Abloomify app at app.abloomify.com/configs/integrations and open the Salesforce connection flow.
When you click Connect, Abloomify now shows a short pre-connect guide first. That reminder exists to prevent the most common Salesforce setup failure: starting OAuth before the package has been installed in the target org.
From there:
  1. Review the guide prompt.
  2. Re-open this article if you want the full checklist.
  3. Click Continue to Connect when your Salesforce admin install is complete.

Step 5: Complete Salesforce OAuth

Once the package is installed, the OAuth step should proceed normally.
During authorization:
  1. Sign in to the correct Salesforce org.
  2. Review the access request.
  3. Approve the connection.
  4. Wait for Abloomify to return to the integrations experience.
After OAuth succeeds, Abloomify will create the Salesforce connection and continue any normal post-connect steps, such as account sync or setup guidance.

How to Verify the Connection Worked

A healthy setup usually looks like this:
  • Salesforce shows as connected inside Abloomify
  • The connection no longer returns you to the initial install warning
  • Abloomify can continue with downstream setup steps
  • Salesforce-specific account or sync setup becomes available where applicable
If you still see the connection card in an unconnected state after OAuth, refresh the page once and try again.

Troubleshooting the Most Common Salesforce Error

Error: OAUTH_EC_APP_NOT_FOUND

This almost always means the Salesforce org you are authorizing does not have the required Abloomify app/package installed yet.
Use this checklist:
  1. Confirm which Salesforce org you are currently signed into.
  2. Confirm the package was installed in that same org.
  3. If you intended to connect a sandbox, make sure the install happened in the sandbox, not production.
  4. If you intended to connect production, make sure the install happened in production, not a sandbox.
  5. If the package install just finished, wait a few minutes and retry.

Error persists after install

If the install is complete and the error still appears:
  • Ask your Salesforce admin to verify the package is fully installed
  • Retry from a fresh Salesforce session
  • Confirm you are not authorizing the wrong org in the OAuth window
  • Contact Abloomify support with the exact error text and the org type you are connecting

Recommended Internal Checklist for Salesforce Admins

Before handing the setup back to the business owner, the Salesforce admin should confirm:
  • The managed package installed successfully
  • The install happened in the correct org
  • Any approval or access prompts were completed
  • The organization is ready for OAuth authorization
That one-time admin check avoids repeated failed connection attempts later.

What Happens After the Salesforce Connection Is Active

After Salesforce is connected, Abloomify can use the integration to power CRM-aware insights and downstream workflows across the platform.
If you are evaluating the broader CRM setup, you can also review the public Integrations directory and the Guides directory for additional setup documentation.

Need Help?

If your team is blocked on Salesforce setup, send your Abloomify contact:
  • The Salesforce org type you are connecting
  • The exact error message you see
  • Whether the package install has already been completed
  • Whether the issue happens in production, sandbox, or both
That information usually makes Salesforce connection troubleshooting much faster.
